What Is All-on-4?
All-on-4 is a full-arch dental implant technique that replaces every tooth in your upper jaw, lower jaw, or both using just four strategically placed titanium implants. A fixed bridge is then attached to those implants, giving you a permanent, non-removable set of teeth that look, feel, and function like your natural smile.
The technique was pioneered in the 1990s as a solution for patients who couldn't tolerate traditional dentures or didn't have enough jawbone to support individual implants for each tooth. By placing two implants vertically in the front of the jaw and two at an angle toward the back, the All-on-4 approach maximizes contact with the denser bone available — often eliminating the need for bone grafts.

A permanent smile in as little as one day. Traditional full-arch restoration can take 6-12 months. With All-on-4, we place the implants and attach a temporary fixed bridge the same day — you walk out with functional teeth.
No more loose dentures. Because the bridge is screwed into the implants rather than resting on your gums, it doesn't slip, click, or require adhesive. You eat, talk, and smile without thinking about it.
Preserves jawbone. Dental implants stimulate the jawbone the way natural tooth roots do, which prevents the bone loss that traditional dentures accelerate over time.
Usually no bone graft needed. The angled posterior implants take advantage of denser bone in the front of the jaw, often allowing patients who were told they needed bone grafts to skip that step entirely.
Fewer implants, lower cost than alternatives. Compared to placing 6-8 implants per arch or replacing individual teeth one-by-one, All-on-4 is typically more affordable while delivering similar long-term results.
Who Is a Candidate for All-on-4?
All-on-4 is life-changing for the right patients, but it's not for everyone. Ideal candidates typically: have failing teeth in an upper or lower arch that can't be saved; have been dealing with loose, painful, or ill-fitting dentures; have enough healthy jawbone in the front of the jaw to anchor the implants (though often less than you'd need for traditional implants); are in reasonably good general health and don't smoke heavily.
Conditions that may complicate treatment — uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking, severe bone loss, certain medications — don't automatically disqualify you, but they do affect planning. We use 3D CBCT imaging to map your jaw precisely before any decision is made.
