Importance in Treating Gum Disease Early
If left untreated, gum disease can result in tooth loss and even make you more vulnerable to other kinds of health conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and pre-term delivery. When addressed early, however, it can be successfully treated with advanced cleaning, scaling and root planing.
Schedule Your Consultation
If your condition is severe enough, Dr. Krunal and Aditi Patel might refer you to a periodontist for more comprehensive care. In many cases, however, we can provide the help you need in our Palm Beach Gardens, Royal Palm Beach or Jupiter offices.

Gum Disease Treatment Process
As part of the treatment process for periodontal disease, your dentist might clean below your gums. This is done to remove tartar or calculus. Cleaning below the gumline can prevent further damage and improve the stability of teeth. A local anesthetic may be applied to the affected area, which is then cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaning device and/or a scaling instrument.
To restore your tooth roots to their actual shape our professional team will smooth them down after cleaning. This is what is known as planing, and it can help the gum tissues attach more snuggly to your teeth as they heal.
Our team at KA Dental Group may also use a dental laser to complete your treatment. Gum disease therapy with a dental laser is more conservative, more efficient, and more comfortable than other forms of treatment.
